His biography, known as Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ, is a shining light that guides Muslims through every challenge in life. The Makkan period – the first thirteen years of his prophethood – was marked by extreme conflict, hardship and sacrifice. Yet, throughout all these trials, the Prophet ﷺ remained steadfast, patient and hopeful, and set a timeless example for today’s youth, who often face their own emotional, social and moral challenges in a rapidly changing world. start of mission When the Prophet ﷺ received the first revelation in the Cave of Hira at the age of 40, he was entrusted with the divine mission of spreading the message of Tauhid – the unity of Allah – and turning people away from idol worship. At first, he campaigned secretly, inviting close friends and family. The first people to accept Islam were Khadijah (RA), Abu Bakr (RA), Ali (RA), and Zaid bin Harithah (RA). However, when he began preaching publicly, the Quraysh tribe of Mecca fiercely opposed him. They feared that his message would destroy their social and economic system, which was based on idol worship and tribal pride. Challenges and oppression in Mecca 1.
